"Roam if you want to...

...roam around the world." Roam by The B52's

The next thing that I love, love, love about traveling is...eating out! I am totally one of those people who dress up so that we can take cute pictures of us eating in distinct little restaurants and cafes wherever we go! I love local flavor.

This is at the Cafe on the Square after I *ahem* snarfed down a sandwich. Ask for the Dulin toasted. Um, YUM!
And in case you didn't get enough of my luggage obsession yesterday, I found these two delightful posts featuring some truly delectable bags.

Mrs. Lilien on the art of luggaging.

Beeee-yootiful hard-side luggage.

Much love!

"Follow me...

...everything is all right." Follow Me by Uncle Kracker.

Hello lovelies!!! Happy Monday. :)

So, one of my favorite things for roadtrip travel is...a matching set luggage (especially vintage, if you can find it)! There is something very glamourous about arriving at your destination in a cute little sundress, oversized sunglasses, and having a trunkful of matching luggage!

Izzy is hiding from Irony.

His hiding spot may be compromised.

Irony waiting for Izzy to show himself.

My mother-in-law was cleaning out their basement and she found this lovely set of luggage that she doesn't use any more! I was so excited when she offered it to me - I love it! As you can see, the kitties also love it. This set is definitely coming on our next little roadtrip, though I probably wouldn't ever fly with it because there are no wheels. Beauty has its' price, ya'll, but I do draw the line at carrying my luggage through those ginormous airports.

Much love!

"Then I saw her face...

...now I'm a believer!" I'm a Believer by The Monkees.

So in case you hadn't yet noticed, the whole trip kinda revolved around my ADORABLE niece. She is such a ham!

Meggles lovin' on a STOLEN Tigger.
Grandma giving Meggles a mustache.
Meggles giving herself a mustache (to be like Grandpa).

Meggles eyeing Grandpa's sopapilla; Grandpa shocked that we could accuse Meggles of such a thing.

Getting ready to go.

Hugging Grandpa goodbye.

The Fam. L to R - Momma, Fred, Meggles, Balesy, and Daddy.

Meggles can't stand to see us go.
Bye Meggles!!! (Actually, I'm seeing her again this week - yay!!!) It was so much fun seeing my sister and parents and everybody! A week is not long enough.

"Hey little girl, it's me, don't you know who I am?...

...I met you last summer when I came up to stay with my gran." Don't Tell Me by the Beach Boys.

Quick stop at Mom and Dad's, then off to Granma's!

At Fuller Lodge.

Blowing kisses with her cool sunglasses.

How many family members does it take to get a backpack unstuck from Meggle's head?

Grampa!

Granma!

"Pitter patter of those feet...

...movin' and a groovin with that beat." Let Me In by The Sensations

We're back!!! Well, actually, we're off again on another trip tomorrow, but I have been so terrible about keeping you all up to date since we got back from the Land of Enchantment! I'll be catching you up while we're gone this time, and hopefully we can get back on schedule by the time we're back.

So we went to a wedding. It's the first wedding I've been to without actually putting it on since...oh geez. Probably since my sweet friends TiFi and his gorgeous Canadian bride got married back in 2008 or so. But we still got to help, which was so much fun, since it was all the old home people. I do miss them!

Daddy pointing out the sights.

Momma (right) and Mrs. C decorating the cakes. I got to do the chocolate shavings on one!

Me and my sweetie all dressed up.

Sister Fred and Niece Meggles posing for me. (Friend J on left was on furlough from Kenya, -
what a treat to see her! We are almost never in the same state at the same time when she visits.

Childhood chums of the bride.Me, A, and Fred. (left-to-right)
Two Grandpas. Meggles and my dad, and Mr. S with his granddaughter. (her Mum, Stef, is there on the right keeping an eye on things. :)
Exhausted and sleeping on the way home. :P

So that was the beginning of the trip...next installment--GRANDMA'S HOUSE!!! (My grandma, not Meggles. Ok, maybe a brief stop at Meg's Grandma, but then onto mine.)

Much love!

"Wont you get hip to this timely tip...

...Jack and take this California trip." Route 66 by Chuck Berry.

I was reading my sister's blog (as I often do) and I saw her talking about her "beach itch." I get the same thing, only for roadtrips. Or any trips, actually - I'm not choosy. Flying, driving, sailing--heck, I'll take a train. But I have been informed by The Powers That Be that until my endurance is up a little (meaning, I have to be able to last more than an hour awake at a time without throwing up) a trip will have to wait.

The Powers That Be also made some sort of comments about the President of the United States, gas prices, taxes, and a few other politically-driven issues. There might have been some spicy language involved.

I'm not completely sure, because I was falling asleep again.

Love!

"We'll be playin' and havin' fun...

...on an island in the sun." Island In The Sun by Weezer.

The beachfront on Paarenbaai Bay, where the cruise ships dock.

Skyline of Oranjestad, Aruba.

Palms Beach, Aruba. Apparently it's second "best."

We were happy with it.

How I spent my time...
How Ryan spent his time...
Lunchtime! So many cute little huts with shops!

How unreal is that? The water was perfectly clear and warm and...it was perfect,

So yes. This was our trip! I'm almost certain there's a part of heaven that looks exactly like this. I didn't want to leave...my little heat-loving soul just enjoyed it so much!

Thanks for "joining" us on our trip! tomorrow we'll be back to normal posts.
