Sorry I haven't written in over a month!!!! It's been crazy, what with the play and everything. And now I'm in the midst of writing a paper about hijab, which I will post (probably in condensed form) when it's done...hopefully by my deadline tomorrow. Till then, I found this (click here) in my researches.

It's a little series of pictures from Tehran, where a girl and guy are cuddling on a park bench and the Park Police comes and checks their IDs and presumably escorts them...elsewhere because of their indecent proximity. I find it fascinating how modestly dressed she is (especially by American standards) yet how "sketchy" their behavior is by Islamic standards. (Unless, of course, they're married...)

Meanwhile, in France, the headscarf is banned in public for it's divisive effect on French society.

Isn't it ironic?
