"Little did I know...

...that you were Romeo." Love Story by Taylor Swift.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! It is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

 --Shakespeare's Sonnet 116

That is possibly my favorite sonnet. It dawned on me (as I saw how all the stores have abruptly shifted from Christmas to Valentines) that Valentine's day is coming soon! This is looking to be the first year that I'll actually be with my sweetheart on Singleness-Awareness day! I have never spent a valentines day not alone (how's that for a double negative!?) and I'm looking forward to it this year. Hopefully this doesn't jinx it!

To help everyone else get ready for that day I found this list of 101 handmade valentine's day craft ideas. If  you are planning on spending this traumatic holiday alone, may I recommend my previously favorite valentine's activity, which is to take a bubble bath,  hide at home in ugly but comfy sweats, watch a Jane Austen movie, and eat chinese takeout with a glass of wine in the company of your cat? After laughing at these cute (and disturbing) photos of Victorian Couples, of course.

And finally, this article is an from one of my favorite blogs, the art of manliness, and it's all about writing love letters! If any of you menfolk want to wow your girl, I highly recommend putting pen to paper. (Also highly helpful if you WANT to have a sweetheart by Valentine's Day...if you start now, you'll probably have her at least mildly interested by February... :P)

Much love!
